  • How do I get an EORI number and what is it used for?

    EORI stands for “Economic Operators Registration and Identification number”.

    Businesses and people wishing to trade must use the EORI number as an identification number in all customs procedures when exchanging information with Customs administrations.

    How do I get an EORI number and what is it used for?

    To trade within or outside the EU you will need to ensure that your VAT number is EORI registered and can do this via the following website https://www.gov.uk/check-eori-number. should your number not be registered the process is simple and quick via the link https://www.gov.uk/eori . If you're a company not registered for VAT as you trade below the current threshold you will still require an EORI number. Private individuals importing/exporting for commercial gain will also require to register. 

    Lastly please note if you trade with Northern Ireland you will also require an XI EORI number and this can also be obtained from https://www.gov.uk/eori
